My sister and her family, some of my favorite people, are here visiting from Bangkok, which gives me very little free time to work on the computer (plus the fact that we are still unpacking…)
I’ll just share a little conversation I had with Bella and Dawkins about Stephanie Meyers’ Twilight saga to show you what’s on their minds these days. The Twilight series is huge right now with the teen girl population and involves an intense romance between an ethical vampire, that is, the stunningly handsome Edward quenches his thirst by hunting large predators instead of drinking human blood, and a teenage girl named BELLA. The last book of the saga, Breaking Dawn, was released today, but Bella got hers at midnight last night – she won a free copy in a raffle! She was pretty pleased about wearing a wristband that read WINNER and getting to move straight to the front of the line.
Bella: I loooove Edward.
Me: What? are you talking about the vampire in the book you’re reading?
B: What, you should hear Dawkins!
Me: Dawkins? You’re into this guy too?
Dawkins: OMG. I can’t stop thinking about him – He’s all I’ve thought about for the last week…
Me: ?!?
Needless to say, I was convinced to begin reading the series myself, and I am now in the middle of the third book…
